Night scope / Thermal Suggestions.

I've been night hunting with flashlights and a few kill lights. Was thinking about buying a night scope or a thermal scope for coyotes though. I don't think I want to spend more than 2k for one though? What do you guys reccomend?

Or do you guys think if the lights are doing the job just keep going that route? My dad killed a hog this past time he went and I just want to make it a bit easier for him and his buddy to hunt at night. The other idea was also looking for something similar to the kill light but that illuminates a good amount of land. Anything you guys reccomend? TIA
