Ar not kicking out empties after quadrail install

Like I said in the title, I installed a quad rail on my ar and shot it today for the first time after putting it on. It's not kicking out the empty and doesn't even seem to be trying to now. I'm guessing I didn't get the gas block back in place right? Anything else I should check out? I didn't have any tools with me to mess with it in the field today to tinker with it. Also I have the triangle end cap on mine and had to specify when ordering the rail that that's what I had. But the rail I got isn't a triangle on the end. May be a stupid question but should it be? Still pretty new to the ar scene

Most likely it's the gas block alignment. Did you remove it?

I'd say you already have the answer above.

I didn't remove it I just loosened it up so I could swap out the handguards. I'm gonna take it loose again and see if I can get it seated in better. Just wish I could shoot it after messing with it without having to drive a good ways

I've heard you can check the alignment of the block with an air compressor. Plug the muzzle or chamber, compressed air in the other end, air escape from the gas tube (or something like that).

I check mine with the air compressor method. It works well.
