    Should I trade

My Savage 12 VLP .300 WSM for an AR in 6.5 Creedmor. I forget the MFR, think its Alexander Arms.
I'll have to add cash and a scope.

I got the 300WSM for hunting at deer, pigs etc at 700+ yds. That hasn't changed. I like the AR Platform. It's what I carried in the Corps. So I'm familiar with it.

I wouldn't. Not for what you are saying. Gun for gun straight would be a decent trade for both.

That's a tough one. I say if the rifle isn't sentimental then go for it if it's something you want. I try to look at it like which one will I shoot more often.

6.5 grendel or 6.5 creedmoor? Alexander arms has always made a lot of 6.5 grendel rifles.

I'd probably stick with the 300 wsm for long range hunting. That savage bolt gun will probably out shoot a semi auto in terms of accuracy. It recoils more for sure. Ammo is probably more expensive also. I would feel better about hitting an animal with a larger caliber heavier bullet at those ranges though.

The Creedmoor is built for long range and very accurate factory ammo available. I've had one in Savage 10. The AR platform would be cool and still enough energy for deer out to 400 yards, no problem. The WSM has more balls but I don't think as accurate at longer ranges. Be a hard trade there especially if your having to add much cash.

I would trade in a minute...at least for me have not seen many 6.5CM in AR platform. As far as cash difference, depends on what you can live with? I always say if it "kicks me in the chest," all that remains is what's in the billfold!

Are you sure it's a Creedmoor? If it's an Alexander rifle it's not. That would be a 6.5 Grendel.

Also a 6.5 Creedmoor would be an AR10 pattern rifle. Quite a bit different than the rifle you carried in the service.

Is it a full Alexander Arms build, or an upper on a home built lower, what model is it? Their 6.5 Grendel rifles start at 1,100 for an Incursion and go up to 3,190 for a GSR.

It's a heavy rifle. I'm a big guy, 6'7" an over 350# I don't feel much recoil from it. It might but I don't seem to notice it.
I remember seeing 6.5CM on the barrel.

My buddy, who sold it to me and has the 6.5, says this, Savage,is a great mid price range long range gun well capable of 1k + yds with the right optics. I don't have the right optics, yet. I want a Nightforce scope.
The Savage has a factory full float fluted bull barrel, pillar bedded......

I'm not 100% sure of the MFR. I held a lot of guns that day. He's getting stocked up for his Firearms Auction on the 16th.
I remember seeing 6.5CM stamped on the barrel.

                    It's a new factory rifle.
He doesn't sell built and very few used guns.
                    He doesn't want the liability.

I'll call and ask him tomorrow who makes it.
It has a $1500 price tag on it.

I'd trade him for it if it were me. Having said that I've never heard of that particular rifle.

You need to look into alex pro firearms 6.5 creedmoor hunter model. What type of accuracy they typically have, reliability, quality and all that jazz. I've never heard of them.
