Couple reasons off the top of my head:

    1. Most people get the lower engraved and stamped before they even build it out. After waiting for your stamp, if you encounter a major flaw in the lower that makes it unusable or undesirable, you're screwed. Andersons have a significantly higher QC failure rate than most other AR lowers.

    2. If your SBRed lower breaks, again, you're screwed out of that $200 and the time it took to wait for the stamp. Plus there is more ATF paperwork to file about the destruction. I can't say for sure that Andersons fail more than others, but I'd rather build by house on stone than sand.

I've purchased quite a few, built on 2 and had zero issues. Just wanted to see how the majority of the screen felt.

I see the drawback with the SBR thing, but I see it as more of a peace of mind type thing. Only because I've never encountered an issue with Anderson.

I have one build with a lower from Tactical Machining (florida) and the finish and fit was spot on. I've purchased two additional lowers for future builds, both Aero Precision and they appear to be flawless. since I haven't built on them yet, I can't say anything about the fit of the LPK or upper at this time. I bought an anderson a while back but didn't do anything with it, so I sold it to a friend. it appeared fine, but just had to two APs, so decided to sell the anderson and keep the Aeros

I have a few and have no issues with any, this includes a matched rf85 set.
