    Robbery Rant!!!

Well yesterday I was getting ready to go to my divorce hearing at 830 am. I walked out to my truck and door is open stuff was gone. It was at my dad's house since they live in town. The suckers got 2 pistols a rifle and a suppressor and tools and some other stuff. Around 4-6000 dollars. I was suppose to have a renters policy since I was living in our rent during the divorce. The agent never finished the policy on the renters insurance. The vehicle insurance won't cover it my dad's home owners insurance won't cover it. Looks like I'm screwed all around. I oly have the serial numbers for 1 pistol and the suppressor. Any advice?

Not sure all details with the agent, but if you have proof you asked for it to binded or start, then his EO insurance may pay you out.

Other than that sorry man that sucks.

No advice other than, don't leave items like that in your truck. I may be wrong, but I believe the suppressor being stolen is a bigger deal than other items

Agree with Spearchunker, if he stated it was in place, you have it! See if you have any emails to back you up on renters.

This. Unless your agent is totally independent, he's a representative of a company. If you show that he was negligent or dragging in his duty, there's a good chance the company will help you out.

                Sorry for your loss.

Don't want to get tagged as "grammar police", but FYI robbery only occurs if something was taken from you in your presence and usually involves violence of some sort.

Theft is what happened to you.

Agent told me once that as soon as you express your intent to your agent to have a certain thing insured that you would be covered from that moment forward. He was a longtime State Farm agent, but I feel like he was referring to general insurance ground rules.

The other part of this is everything was out of sight the only vehicle hit in the subdivision. I had taken truck to get serviced at the Ford house the evening before. Just doesn't add up. I don't think this was a random crime.

lol I learned that the funny way. I was burglarized and called 911 that I was robbed. I was schooled on the difference then.

Yeah robbery is a much more serious offense and there is a big difference.
That's why I thought it was important to point it out here.
