You will get all sorts of answers on this but I have a Rock River Coyote Rifle and it's been a great rifle. Not real heavy. I've had a 16" carbine and a 24" bull stainless as well and this 20" that I have is my favorite. It's a 1-9" twist too, shoots 55 gr Vmax lights out. The 24" bull was a 1-8" and I didn't like it cause it liked 69gr and above, but that was back when 69gr variety wasn't really a wide range to find.
AR15. AR10 would obliterate them. Plus cost factor on .223/.556 Ammo is cheaper. There is a weight reduction also with AR15 if you are going to be strolling around the woods for any length of time.

Wouldn't waste 308 ammo on a yote. Like shooting a deer with a .338 wimag: it works, but it's not necessary.
I have a DPMS Sporticle. It works just fine for me. Rock River makes good rifles but are a little more expensive. The Ruger SR556 or the Bushmaster Varminter are other good options. It just depends what you want to spend too though. I don't really see much sense in buying the best looking, most expensive gun on the market to shoot coyotes with. I'm cheap though so that's why.lol If it goes bang I make it work.
