Must have a bad Rock Island 1911

Just left the range. Pumped 250+ rds through it with nary a hiccup just as fast as we could pull the triggers and reload.

My brother come down and we split 550 rds between my 1911 and his Ruger SR9.
He had one FTF at the end. Guns were dry and warm.

We swapped for a bit. I liked his pistol ok, just prefer my 1911.

What happened to my smiley face emoji in the Title?

Confused here? So are you happy about your 1911?

I love mine and I have had 2 of them. Never had a FTF or FTE on either.

They are "Rock" solid 1911's imo.

A lot of people talk bad about RIA. They are a pretty solid pistol from what I have seen and heard. At least for a beginner. I like mine.

The only .45 I've ever had that was better was a Ruger P90. That thing would eat anything I fed it. My RIA is only a little picky. It doesn't like steel cases. But I don't either.

My ONLY issue with my 38 super is that it will not feed a hollow point with the factory magazine

They aren't $2000 so they must be junk! Lol

I'm not a 1911 fan but I've heard good things about the RIA guns

We shot Winchester, Perfecta, Aquilla and Fioche ammo.
The barrels have some copper fouling.

They're good guns. I've had two in 45 and one in 9mm. For a carry/fighting/practical shooting gun, they work quite well. Get a dremel and round out all those sharp edges and you'll have a great gun.

And that's why there's one hidden near my door ready to go.
