    Suppressed 22 pistol

Anyone have any regrets with the particular 22 pistol they chose for a suppressor host? I'm trying to decide between a Ruger MkIII and the new Browning Buckmark Field Target Suppressor Ready. I think the Browning's 5.5" barrel may mean bulk ammo won't or won't always be subsonic, but for otherwise everyday plinking or hunting I like it quite a bit better than the short barreled MkIII.

Any comments on balance, accuracy, etc? My suppressor will be a Spectre II.

How much longer will your suppressor make the pistol? That's something you may want to consider.

I purchased a Walther PPQ and love it with my Sparrow.

Do not get the Mark 3. It is trash. They took the Mark 2 and added a bunch of California-pleasing crap to it. If you want a Ruger, look at the Mark 2. The Buckmark is a nicer gun. I would not overlook the Ruger SR22 if you want a plinker. Browning definitely wins the fit and finish category though.

The only downfall of the mk3 is the mag safety, which can be disabled. They're good, reliable, accurate guns.

Just recently put together a couple with the intent of running them suppressed most of the time. Not really the most compact platforms, but way fun to shoot.

First is a Paclite upper on an old MKII 22/45 frame. Very, very accurate and weighs almost nothing.

Second one was built for pure accuracy, and it easily hangs with most of the rifles in that regard. Ruger MKIII lower with Volquartsen internals and upper. It's pretty light as well, but not nearly as much as the Paclite. It has accounted for a pile of rabbits and a few prairie dogs in its short life Sorry for the crappy pics.

I normally use my Spectre II with a Ruger 22/45 lite. Have yet to have a single issue.

I've got a browning buck mark as well that I've been meaning to upgrade with a packlite barrel, but really no need with the 22/45.

Get the MKIII, get rid of the California crap on it, it is the best auto pistol out there. Once you get rid of the California crap.

I run a MKIII and a Sparrow. Swapped out the trigger and removed the mag safety in the process. Never had any problems and it shoots great.
