My patrol rifle is a bushmaster lower I've had since 2002. It was my first AR. Over the years I replaced a lot, so currently it's running a velocity trigger, magpul str stock which holds my extra light batteries, magpul grip which holds my extra optic battery. The upper has a bcm 11.5" ELW tipped with a severe duty brake tomorrow keep weight down and it gives it great balance with almost no felt recoil. Also running a Midwest Industries Gen 3 keymod rail because I love the slim feel and light weight. Gas buster charging handle I got while I was in the military and an mpi bolt. Magpul plastic buis to save weight, and a SPARC 2 optic on Larue qd mount. I'll be replacing the optic with a t2 micro. Only accessory mounted is a tlr1hl pistol light, and sometimes a contour camera.

The build is designed to be lightweight and minimalist almost. I run a homemade proctor sling.

I suppose you could call it custom, but to me, ar-15 is always a custom, as they're all built different. It's really just a platform. I've found the collection of parts I prefer and run with it.

Mine is primarily used for 0-100 yard engagements. I have to be able to maneuver it indoors often, run with it, hold it for hours, throw it around my back and go hands on. I built around those requirements

I like the looks of that. With you in the DFW area I might have to hit you up for some help when I get to putting mine together. Wanting to build 3 of them. One in 308 and two in .223/5.56.
