There have been a few threads in the past about where and how to mount your dvr to record your night hunts and it seems that nobody has really come up with a great way to mount em. Initially I had mounted mine to the stock with velcro but it isnt real secure and doesnt look very good. Then I made a plate to attach the included pouch to a quick detach mount. That works good but stands out from the rifle and gets in the way. Have any of yall come up with any other ideas? I am thinking about machining basically an aluminum box with an integral QD mount. That would allow me to minimize the height and size. Ideas?

I keep my UNV MDVR in my pocket. Having it attached to the rifle is way too bulky for me. The MDVR has a switch that instantly turns the unit on and starts recording, so I just flip the switch when it's time to shoot.
The future of this technology is for the recorder to be built into the unit (a la X-Sight). There is no good reason why they should be two separate things.
