    Integrally suppressed 10/22

So say a guy had the itch bad and wanted to get a suppressor for his 10/22...

Is an integrally suppressed barrel like the Gemtech Mist the way to go? Any better options out there?

    School me.

Trying to spend some money before the changes take effect. Next on the list is a pistol caliber can

I have a Thompson Machine 10/22 takedown. I highly suggest checking them out.

well i've already got the 10/22 and am not a fan of the takedown model so I'd prefer just to get a barrel swap on my current gun

Tactical solution barrel and a thread on can and maybe a new stock and you are ready to go.(Get a separate can so you can use it on other guns) That what I'm going to do once I get my qc10 9mm SBR finished. I've just ordered parts for that though along with a can...

I'm a far from an expert but from what I heard is that integrally suppressed barrels can shoot standard velocity rounds sub sonic.

The disadvantage is that the actual barrel length is that of a pistol.

but if the the rounds are subsonic I have no qualms about a short barrel. No need for barrel length with a subsonic round, unless I'm wrong.

Not on mine. The barrel is full length but has holes drilled through it.

Hence effectively a pistol length barrel

Read the quote in my post. The actual barrel length is not that of a pistol unless a pistol has an 18 inch barrel. If it had a common pistol length barrel it would require two stamps. One for the suppressor and one for a short barreled rifle. Granted the velocity may be similar to a pistol length barrel but it's a rifle length barrel.

Hence, effectively, i.e. in effect, a pistol length barrel.

Further, if the barrel was actually 6", but the suppressor tube was permanently attached to the barrel making the unit 16" or more in length, it would be a 1 stamp gun even though the barrel was less than 16" which is one of the reasons that integrally suppressed rifles are popular. A good example is the Leonidas from Liberty or the Daniel defense.
