    .277 Wolverine

Anyone have any experience with it? I've recently discovered it in my search for a different caliber for one of my ARs and have been pretty intrigued by it. Seems like it almost has the same velocities as the 6.8 except you get to use standard mags like Pmags and the same BCG as 556.
I've also been looking at the 6x45 and .25-45 Sharps.

    Here's a link to the .277 wolverine

Seems to be a wild cat round that is getting pretty popular. Similar concept as the 300BLK, time will tell how it will fair.

That's what I'm gathering. It seems like it's only been out for a few years. I'd like to hear some real world input on it.

Looks like it would fall between a 6.5TCU and 7TCU, as both of those use the same brass (although most manuals recommend using .223 brass over 5.56 for the two TCU rounds).

I've considered making a 7TCU barrel for an AR, but most loads are slightly too long for a factory magazine, so at the time, I dismissed the idea. Since then, I've seen loads specially for the AR that fit the mags.

One thing to consider is the use. 7TCU was acceptable for most for medium sized game, but many considered the 6.5TCU to be marginal for the same game. As the .277 Wolverine falls between and meets the mag specs, I'd be curious to know its effectiveness on medium sized game.

Now if you just want an AR in a cool caliber... I think you have found it.

If you get one, I hope you enjoy it. Please give us a report on your likes / dislikes if you buy it.

        All the best,
        Glenn

My brother (Rfrazee) bought one from someone on here in an ar15. You can ask him for first hand experience. I think he seems to like it
