    suppressor guru question

I've never built a form 1 can before.

I went with the 7.6" SDTA Ti and FP with challenge coin setup. It will be used primarily on a 16" 5.56 running supersonic loads and though I know it won't be quiet I'd be happy if it were hearing safe.

My initial though was to run the spacer to the end of the brake then the coin and then FP baffles stacked together to the end cap. Is that overly simplistic? Should I ad a spacer after the coin to increase blast chamber volume? If so how long?

Unfortunately BATF doesn't allow us Americans to experiment so having a good baseline before committing to a design is essential.

If you're running a brake inside the can, you Will need to figure that distance into your blast chamber dimension. You don't want your blast baffle too close to the end of the brake. Depending on the diameter of the tube, you want your blast chamber to be 15-20% of your tube length. Remember that the first gas impulse Will travel into this area so it's wise to give it a good amount of volume to expand in. Some suggest 30%, but I have found that to be excessive. Since you are using the challenge coin, which is basically a ported blast baffle, you can make that space a little smaller since the baffle will allow gas to move
Through it . Might be wise to make a small space between the coin and the rest of the stack.

I wouldn't say that it is overly simplistic. Stacked flat baffles are actually pretty normal for form 1 build without access to lathes. 60* clipped cones with planned spacing tend to be the quietest, but many people have success with your design.

You might spend some time on the silencertalk.com forums, specifically the silencersmithing sub-forum. Most of the time somebody has a SDTA related post going. If not just search the forum for it.
