    Colt 6940 AR

I saw one of these back during/just after the "panic" at my local Walmart. I was really jonesing for it because I liked the way it looked. The price difference then wasn't more than a $100 or so different than the 6920. I'm kinda kicking myself for not getting it.

Anyway, my question is this. Is that a DI gun? I don't recall mention one way or another on the tag. But I think Colts website shows it as a piston gun. Is that the only difference between the 6920 and 6940?

The 6940P is a "piston gun"
    The 6940 is not.

The difference between the 6920 and 6940 is a monolithic rail and flip ups on the 6940.

If you're going to buy and then want to replace the rail you're better off going with the 20.
If you buy and take to the range. Get the 40.

If you can buy the piston version for a $100 more odds are the DI was way over priced. Lol.

The 6920 was $1100 or so. The 6940 was $1200 or $1300. Price on both seemed about right for the time. I liked the way the 6940 looked more. Of course they were overpriced, they are colts.

Should have got in on the sale when Walmart got rid of the scary guns a few months back. I picked up a $850 AR for $350.

And yes I will be start the bidding at $1800 once Hillary gets elected.
