Ruger Mini-14 .300 BLK

Yeah.. But both are used by most people for the same purpose. Not to mention that if you want to add a flash hider or comp to the mini, you have to have the barrel threaded, which is costly because the barrel is a pain to take off.

Like I said, I like the mini 14. But I don't understand how they still sell a less versatile rifle with less available parts and harder to find/more expensive mags for more money.

The .300 Mini is already threaded. Tactical model as per the above link. I enjoy playing with gunsmithing, and have a AR that I have changed a lot, but most people just want to buy a gun and use it. An extra mag for a Mini-14 is easy to find and is about $25. Many people are not interested in AR's also because they are an ugly piece of fiddly machinery. (As I said, I do have an AR.)

I'll say it again: I like the Mini. It handles well, and does look better than an AR. But they don't perform like one.
