      Just a minute..........

Tactical Night Vision Torch Pro. And you are right, the IR light that comes with the ATN stuff is garbage. This light will open your eyes and double your range. Focuses down to a spot also.

If you are hog hunting over bait, get you an IR light from Amazon ( $12/$15 ), hook it up to a 12v feeder battery and shine it on your baited spot. It will light up like an airport runway when you look through your night vision.

Here's a video I created a few years back with a Pulsar Recon 5x Digital NV Monocular using a Torch Pro. For Digital NV IR it does the trick. Be forewarned the IR at close distances to a deer/hog will catch their attention.

I must be really fortunate. Everyone told me the same thing all of ya'll are hearing the stock IR illuminator that comes with the X Sight is junk so I ordered a Luna Optics LN-Elir-3 and I am telling you the stock IR unit is almost equal to the LN-Elir-3

Maybe junk or garbage is a strong word. I just notice that on moonless cloudy night I can only see the eyeballs and not the actual animals. Now on a starlit or full moon night I can see forever with it. I want something that will perform in all weather and sky conditions.

Garbage ? May be a strong word. It was mine, so I will own it. Let me tell you this. The IR light that came with my ATN was the first and only that I had ever used. One day it just quit. Ordered a new one from ATN, and it wouldn't even turn on. Got a second replacement, and it wouldn't turn on. Finally got a third replacement and it turned on, but by then I had ordered a Torch Pro and had seen the light, so to speak. So, one quits, two won't even turn on, and even a good one is not anywhere near as good as the Torch Pro, I'll just call them undesirable. The ATN scope I have absolutely no problems with yet, for the price. But the IR light is the key to seeing what you want to see. I have used the torch pro at 150 yd. when I literally could not see the golf cart that I was sitting in. Don't handicap yourself with an undesiarable IR light.

And the second part of my first post:The small IR lights designed for security cameras set up at your bait station will render your gun mounted lights unnecessary. You really should try them if you hunt over bait. Cheap and easy to set up and when you hit it with NV, it looks like a Walmart parking lot. I'm telling you ! Good luck !
