I'm tossing around the idea of building a dedicated 22 sbr but have a few questions. Was looking at a cmmg bolt and 4.5" barrel but can't seem to find any reviews on the dedicated .22 bolt. I have heard of other brands having issues but the few reviews I have found said the cmmg runs like a top. I just don't want to drop the money and then the thing not run. Have any of y'all used one or heard anything about them?

I have ran a LOT of ammo through a freinds CMMG kit on an m16 lower. Runs great till you don't clean it

Cmmg dedicated bolt and 4.5" barrel. Runs great. I definitely like the dedicated stuff vs the adapters. Plus with the dedicated barrels it 1:12 twist for the lighter bullets.
I went with a rock river 9mm upper. No need for the forward assist. You can take the deflector off too and use a full size port cover.Comment

So, basically, we're talking about building a 22 upper, correct? Aside from that, all you need is a magazine that'll feed .22 rounds but fit into a standard AR lower, correct??Comment

I'll be making the entire sbr I don't really care to have a bunch of uppers for my one sbr lower. I have already purchased a rainier arms 22 upper reciever and one of the bolts it is compatible with is the cmmg.
