Full bore 12 ga cast slugs

I'm working up load data for these huge, awesome chunks of lead I affectionately call "boulders". [emoji23]

One on the left is a solid base 2 oz slug. I have the hollow based version weighting in at 1.635 oz. The one on the right is a 770 gr slug.

I'll be testing these through an Mossberg 835 rifled slug gun, an H&R Ultra Slug Gun I call the Behemoth, and a Mossberg 500 smoothbore.

    This should be fun!

That will be tough on a shoulder at both ends of the shot. Keep us posted.

I'm still in the process of loading test rounds. I have so many magnum shotgun powders, I don't know where to start. Lol

I decided to play around with Longshot first, but I'm suspecting I'll need something like Blue Dot or Steel. I have a lb of SR4756 that I might break open.

Nice looking reloads there. How are you getting that rolled crimp on them ?

I shot a lot of 1 1/4 oz loads of 5s on Blue dot. They built some pressure. Those things are HEAVY at 2oz!!!!
