    Howa M1500 vs Vanguard

Whats the difference? The fact that a different stock and name was added to the barrel and action of a Howa rifle here in the US and then the price was increased by $120.

I know Weatherby offers guarantees sub MOA and Howa doesn't. So does Weatherby shoot every rifle and discard the nonshooter?

Just trying to decided b/w the 2 can't really find a reason to pay 120 more for Weatherby.

Enlighten me with your opinions please.

These are the 2 I'm trying to decide b/w.

Possible resale has to be factored in,

I have a howa chambered in 7mm rem mag and the gun will flat out shoot. 1/2 moa isn't unrealistic at all. The only thing is it kicks like a freakin mule and the older I get the more it hurts. But in all honesty I can't tell a difference between it and my buddy's vanguard.

I have both. Different configurations but both are very similar. Can't really wrong with either.

All Vanguards are sub MOA now, I have both. Another from Howa is the S&W 1500 came from same factory. All three shoot sub MOA. I consider the Howa a my beater just because it's a base unit. Don't think you can go wrong with your preference.

I have a custom howa 204 and it is sub moa and flat out amazing shooter. I chose it over weatherby and the 700.

That vanguard carbine is a sweet gun, and the synthetic stock is nicer than the others in that price range

They are made in the same factory. I have had both. Never had a Howa that would not shoot SUB MOA.

yes it is a sweet little gun. Bottom line is i think they will shoot the same. They are the same action and barrel. So do a pay 113 more for the cooler looking gun???

I'm just looking for a throw around gun to take on the atv and utv when i'm cruising the ranch. These are the ones I've narrowed it to. Seriously considered an low end AR but want to shoot an 80-100 grain bullet..something with a lil more oomph.

                  I'm torn!

Buy the Howa save some money for optics.

I have both guns and they both shoot Sub Moa. The Howa 1500 is in .243 and I always seems to grab it and throw it in the Ranger with me as my Coyote gun. Both guns are very well made and I would buy them again if anything happened to them.

The family owns three Howa's, 223, 7mm 08 and a 308. All shoot great. The Vanguard has a nicer stock, and the bolts used to be polished, haven't looked lately. As mentioned above, S&W 1500 was made by Howa, add Browning to the list. Don't remember the model for sure though.
Good guns. I'd buy another one if I was in the market.

Have a s&w 1500 in 243. A straight shooter for sure. It groups good with just about anything

Do they have the same trigger? Never shot the Howa.
