Cheapest .308 for reloading 300 blackout???

Finishing up my sbr build soon and started getting components for reloading .300 blackout. I'd like to have at least 1000 rounds on hand for plinking and am trying to find the cheapest bullets. I'm just talking about bullets for the range. Not for hunting. Anyone have any leads?

Buy a mold and make your own. I can make 110 or 170 grainers for about 5 cents each, including a gas check.

You could also hunt for pulled military bullets. I've found them on gunbroker and hi tec ammo has some occaisionally.

        www.gunbot.net could help you, too.

You can usually get pulled 147gr bullets fairly cheap.

I've seen 147 gr bullets that have been pulled from 7.62x54r rounds. Been kinda skeptical of those. Are those what you are referring to?

These are what I plink with, mostly load subs out of them though. $0.11 per piece, let me know if you find cheaper.

Have been loading some Win 150 PPFN this morning with various amounts of Trail Boss. I'll report back how they do in a couple hours.

These particular ones i only have shot through a single shot and bolt gun so far.

The load data and chrono data is in here.

If you're really bored you can watch me test some 150 grain Win PPFN out of my little Handi SBR.

What I didn't show was the first round fired was loaded a whole grain short due to misreading the lines on my powder scale and it only made it as far as the muzzle.

Cool rifle, I may look into making one like that out of my single shot. One thing I thought I noticed was you starting with the lesser grains of TB and working your way up. Loading subs I was always shown to work your way from supersonic down to sub.

Did you chrono and of these?

                            I didn't yet.

I was pretty sure I was starting with a safe load (except for the mistaken load) and I started "can off" so I could check for stability then I was looking for noise.

Now that I'm in the ballpark I'll get more serious about accuracy and speed.
