Question about a Timney trigger - is the CE model worth the extra $$$

I am getting ready to pull the trigger (ha ha - get it? Pull the trig...nevermind....) on a Timney trigger. I can snag one off eBay for around $110 to $115. The Calvin Elite model is about $60 more. Is it worth the extra moolah to get the CE model?

If you shoot your favorite rifle < 20 times per year then No

However if you frequent the range and addicted to precision accuracy then consider the extra $$ spent an investment

If needing to swap out a factory 700 trigger for safety precautions just go with the std Timney

Thanks Blake! I am an amateur accuracy nut (unlike you pro-level accuracy nut guys. ) with a little bit of "by necessity" economy thrown in. Not quite over the edge but sneaking up on it by trying to build a decent rifle, getting back into reloading, etc. There is nothing prettier than a ragged hole...except maybe a smaller ragged hole. lol

I have both. The CE is on a long range, precision gun. I love it. The standard model is on a hunting rifle, l love it. Both are great triggers. It just depends on the application.

              Dave,

What do you want to do with the trigger...what is it going on & what weight are you looking for??

              I did a write up:

It is going into a Remington 700 SPS Tactical 308 sitting in a Magpul Hunter 700 stock topped with a SWFA SS 10X42 scope in Burris Xtreme Tactical rings on a Seekins 20 MOA base. Down the road, I might upgrade the barrel, bolt, chassis, glass, true up the action, etc, but for now, I am trying to get a decently accurate rifle without spending stupid money (to me any way lol). My primary use will be punching paper with the occasional hunt thrown in. I enjoy fooling around with both factory rounds and handloads to see what works. I am not a fanatic maniac chasing the last 1/100" but more of a relaxed "let's try this and see what happens" kind of tinkerer. I am not really looking for a specific weight. I will just start out with what feels "about right" and experiment to see what works best for me.

Is the CE version smoother/crisper or does is just adjust to a lower let off weight?
