    Loading for an AR

My hand loading experience is limited to bolt guns.

When loading for simi-auto do you stick to book OAL to insure feeding or do you play with seating depth like on a bolt gun?

Has to fit mag. You can play oal with in that.

      Mags avg 2.250-2.260.
Seating depth for 3 of my AR's are between 2.360 to 2.390.
Keep it to mag. length unless you are loading to lands to test precision.
Unless you have a fast twist barrel able to shoot heavier longer bullets its not worth the time effort.

Question pertains to a 6.8 SPC that is capable up to 120g. I want it accurate but it has to feed from the mag

Conundrum. If you want to be able to use mags. then you are limited to 6.8 mag length. If you want inch out the absolute best accuracy, get a Bob Sled Mag (if they make for a 6.8) and had feed each shot.
