    Best 300WSM Brass to reload

    I recently bought a 300 WSM.
My buddies going to teach me how to reload.
Which brass is the best? I currently have Federal brass. Got 60 rounds haven't shot all of it yet.

I reload Winchester brass for mine. Let me know if you need some brass, I think I still have some Federal.

It seems like it gets harder and harder to come by.

I was shopping around the other day trying to find some and noticed you can get loaded nosler ammunition for slightly more than than the cost of their brass so i am just going to order 100 rounds of the nosler stuff shoot it up and then use it. Having a helluva time finding brass in stock anywhere in 300 wsm. Thinking this is an off time of year to find it.

x2. Brass is close to 1.90 and loaded federal premium 2.10. Buy loaded ammo and shoot it up.

Is brass brass or is one brand better than the other. By better I mean requires less resizing and can reload numerous times

All brass is NOT created equal

Lapua is head n shoulders above the rest but only manufactured in certain cartridges

Just read an article where a bench rest shooter has fired the same piece of Lapua brass 58 times and still going strong. I've blown primer pockets after 5-6 firings with certain brass rendering it useless

When I build my custom personal rifles, I make sure Lapua brass is available ; option B is Norma or Win brass

                      RWS
                      Norma
                      nosler
                      Winchester
                      hornady
                      remington

Lapua would be #1 if they made it

To say you will get 58 firing out of a 300 mag seems a little over kill right? Maybe from something tamer seems more logical. But I am new to this game but doesn't caliber play a bigger role in brass life span than quality of it? Sure you may get more firings from the good stuff but how many more in a caliber that is going to be rough on brass to start?

This maybe completely wrong but it makes sense in my head.

So I have found it mentioned several times on the internet but maybe you folks know.

Is nosler brass and norma brass the same stuff aka made by the same factory just different headstamp? And have also heard the nosler brass is actually better than the norma. But I heard it on the internet so not sure the credibility of it.

By the way OP nosler brass runs 2.51/piece on midway but you can find loaded nosler brass pushing their 180 accubond for 2.51/piece and get loaded ammunition out of the deal. Not sure why you can get loaded ammo of the same brass for cheaper than plain brass but it can be done, or heck even for another .50/piece you can still find good loaded ammo for less than the price of buying brass, powder, primer, and bullets all separate.

I was looking at Norma brass.

                              Is Nosler better?
