The kind of ammo for plinking. I used up the last of my small pistol primers yesterday and noticed that the price tag for the 1000 was $12.95. I bought another 1000 and they were $40. Target bullets cost me another dime or more a piece. Ouch. Those used to cost five or six cents. So I decided to look around and either buy big enough quantities to get a price break or buy remanufactured ammo.
A few years ago I would buy reloaded 223 ammo from a place called Omar's Ammo. I think that they were somewhere around Dallas or Ft. Worth but they always showed up at gun shows and if you got there early enough on Saturday morning you could get what you wanted. I was getting a thousand rounds for something like $118. But that was probably twenty five years ago and I still have several thousand rounds stored, so I'm not looking to buy 223 but sure would like to find 9mm ammo and some 38/357 bullets for a reasonable price.
Who are the players in this game today and do they sell at gun shows. I haven't been to a gun show in a really long time, either.
