    Reloading logs?

Hey guys, as a new reloader I'm still tweaking my process, part of which is how I record stuff in my log. <br />
Here is a picture of how I currently do it:

I record powder first, and go down the line for each part of the final cartridge. What do you see in there you might change? Thanks in advance

Add lines for chronograph info (avg velocity, ES, SD) and average 5 shot group size.

I do it like this when I find what I like, when I trying to figure what shoots, how much how long ect its in another tablet and I also keep targets with stuff written on them as well

I do the same as mentioned but I cut out the groupings and either tape or glue them in next to the load data. That way I have visual references for each load.

I use a 3 ring binder with a tab for each caliber. Then a separate sheet for each load. On each sheet, caliber, date, case type, powder, bullet, primer, crimp, group size, book velocity , chronograph velocity and temperature. Also cut out the group from the target and tape to the page.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm trying to decide now if I want to go the excel route or binder. Thanks for the additional info as to what I should record.

I reload for a number of different calibers and sometimes the same caliber in different guns. So I keep all of my load data in excel. I have a separate worksheet for each gun and print out the load data before I load. The load data sheet gets folded and put in the box with the cartridges. I use it at the range for any notes I might wish to add. Each cartridge is marked with a sharpie with a code that tells me the load so if I drop the box and it comes open I can sort it out. The other benefit of using excel it keeps me from repeating the same load. I periodically backup my data on a flash drive.

I set up a similar system today. Each gun with a different tab and relevant information under that.

I keep an electronic log and a paper log just in case my computer dies.

For developing loads I actually write data on the bullet case.
                    Bullet brand & weight
                    Powder brand & weight
                    OAL

Once I find a load I like I script that load or loads down after checking pressure & primer.
                    Save the paper.

Any of you guys thst use excel found a good way to include group pictures? I haven't tried but I'd think that just inserting the picture would be fairly large. Maybe link to it somehow?

Has anyone tried any of the reloading apps available? I'm looking at one simply called "Reloading" in the apple app store for $4.99. It looks like you can chronicle different loads and take pictures of targets and such to go with it.

I use a looseleaf notebook with dividers by rifle. Here is my load sheet for each batch. I cut out the groups from the target and tape to the bottom of the page also.
