Why has no one made one? You would think it would be the best and easiest thing for long range shooting especially the long range hunters. You are more than likely watching the animal through a spotting scope and in a steel shoot you most likely have a buddy calling hits on a spotting scope as well, so instead of having to move from spotting scope to rangefinder and then back on something moving would it not be easier to have it all in the same optic? I know vortex and leupold both offer rangefinding reticles in their spotters but not a laser range finder. So what gives?

My guess is that the vast majority of people who want a range are hunting and the they need to be able to range the animal quickly in order to take the shot. Setting up a spotting scope in a hunting situation is not when an animal is out in front of you is not ideal.
I have the Leica Rangefinding binoculars and they are the quickest way I have found to range your intended target to effectively take your shot.
The bench rest guys don't need it because they are shooting known distances so a rangefinding spotting scope is not going to help that crowd.
That's just my opinion and 2 cents, probably not worth a whole lot! LOL

You happen to know who made them? I was trying to find some last night and couldnt find any.

Yes your average hunter wouldnt find it practical but your western hunters who are using a spotting scope to find the animals first I think could justify having the ability to range and spot. Especially the guys making longer shots and a lot of folks using guides the guide is on a spotting scope if the time is there to set it up.
As for your benchrest guys yeah it would be useless but if your running a match with unknown distances it would be super helpful. And I could see this being well used in military applications as well where the bad guy could pop out of anywhere.

My point is, the time it takes to set up a spotting scope (unless you are road hunting in your truck with it on your window already) if out walking in order to range an animal, chances are high that animal is not hanging around for you to take a shot. Now, I will use a spotting scope to judge animals at longer distances and then close the gap to shoot. But, a range finding spotting scope does me no good because I can range an animal easily between 600-1000 yards with my Leica's. Most people cannot effectively shoot to kill out to 100o yards anyway. My Leica's combined with my CDS dial on my scopes is all I need for shooting these longer distances here in the west.
