    NFA items and engraving

What has to be engraved on NFA stuff? Which items have to be engraved? What do you do if you sell something?

This is really geared towards suppressors. Do you just keep record of them for the trust or engrave them? If you buy a sbr from someone, isn't their info already engraved on it? Or am I completely wrong?

You would only engrave a suppressor if it's home made and done on a form 1.

The only time people really engrave NFA items is for form 1 SBR rifles since you would be the "manufacturer".

Normally people don't sell NFA items other than full auto weapons. You would end up taking a pretty big hit when transferring NFA items, not to say that it can't be done, but it's not done often.

What goes on your trust depends on the wording of your trust. Some have a schedule A that lists all NFA items and you would only have to include the model/serial number etc on the schedule A.

To my understanding, you do not need to engrave a suppressor. Unless you build it yourself. If you build a SBR, you will have to have your name or trust name and city/state engraved on the lower receiver.

If you are buying a NFA weapon from another citizen, I think youll have to fill out a Form 4. Not a 100% on that though.

          I used these folks.....

          identmarking.com

          Indent Marking in Rockwall, TX.

They charged 60.00 to mark the lower receiver of an SBR. Did it quickly while I waited.

I might have paid too much, but it's done and they did a great job.
