The Final Rule was published in the Federal Register this morning. This means July 13, 2016 is the cutoff date for filing without needing fingerprints and photos for each responsible person on your trust.

Do trustees on your trust have to be family members or can be anybody? Any down side to putting couple of close friends/hunting buddies on it?

It can be anyone. I have a good friend on mine. But I would only put people on it that you can trust. You can take them off at any time.

              Shane,

Me and the wife are wanting a trust mainly for getting a suppressor (noise reduction w/the kids). I kinda wanna go ahead though because anytime you see regulations changing in our government, they almost never "change" exactly like they say. Not meaning to sound all tinfoil hat wearing but I just have almost zero faith in politicians and legislation anymore.

                Shane,

My quick thoughts on SBR. After running a can on my AR's I think it makes sense to send in the form 1 to get it SBR'd. It is $200 but easier now than later. SBR is a common next step after a can for folks who don't think they want one. As for a can, if you only get one, get a .30 cal. You can run it on almost all center fire. Also, a 16" tube on a bolt gun is easy to spot and stalk with suppressor. Get with a member up there that has a good setup and put some rounds down range.
