    Best carbine scope?

So I am looking into getting a carbine scope, have the list narrowed down slightly, but not sure exactly which one yet. Would be going on a little 18" barreled bolt action .223. Main purpose of the rifle will be a truck gun/predator calling gun. Would also pull some work as a hiking hunting gun for deer. And of course as a pig stalking gun.

So far my criteria is has to be 1x on the low end. If it has hold over of some sort in the scope that is preferred. Really want illuminated but isn't an absolute necessity. As for price range would like to stay around 500 bucks but willing to go up to around 8-900 for the right scope. Would like to have non exposed turrets if it had exposed would need zero stop.

These are the ones I have found so far with a couple of hours of google. The nightforce and the razors would be awesome but just a little high for a gun only going to be seeing 200-300 realisticly and only farther than that when screwing around at the range.

These 2 Vortex scopes are really catching my attention and are in the lead at the moment but the others are still on the list.
    Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24
    Vortex PST 1-4x24
    Leupold VXR patrol 1.25-4x20
    Leupold VX HOG 1-4x20
    Leupold MK4 1.5-5x20
    Leupold MKAR 1.5-4x20
    Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x24
Aimpoint??? Not sure on this one, would limit long range capacity, but always wanted one.

Any others to add to the list to look into? Will be a bit before I actually purchase one, so just starting my research phase.

I'm thinking about giving the Leupold vx6 1-6 multigun a try. It goes for just under 1000 bucks and seems pretty good. I haven't ever used one before, but the scopes I really want go for 2500-3000. I have a bunch of basspro gift cards to burn and they carry that particular scope.

Anybody have any experience shooting any of these 4x scopes out to 3-4-5-600 yards? Not for extreme precision or anything but just shooting full size silhouettes? More I look into it more and more I am thinking I want to have an MOA marked crosshairs and/or turrets. The BDC reticles would work as well I guess but not really a big fan of them. Wish they offered that strike eagle with the MOA reticle and turrets of the Viper

I've got a trijicon accupower 1-4 24 with illuminated moa reticle. It's got great glass, and capped turrets.
