    First handgun recommendation

I can whip up any of those and sites just auto line up on target, I don't have to go into manual aim mode and force the tip of the gun down by thinking about it. That is where my beef with glocks is, I don't feel or want to have to relearn my shooting style to get to the point where a glock auto points for me.

Never understood that mindset, tons of people have told me to just "relearn to shoot" the glock, to heck with that to many other good options available that I can pick up and shoot just fine with little effort.

You're missing the point. A competent shooter can pick up pretty much any handgun and not have to force himself to make the adjustments you are talking about.

And let's think about what you are saying. You say that when you point a Glock the sights are high and you have to force them down. Well the grip angle is designed to force you to shoot with a high wrist/high grip similar to the humped MSH on a 1911. This is to help with recoil mitigation. So in theory you are trying to compensate for the slight angle difference and forcing the gun up.

To me the XD pistols feel goofy because of the tall slide. But I can still shoot them just fine. As I can with a 1911, Kahr, M&P etc......

Glock 17 or 19 and never look back. There is no benifit with a revoler over a glock in this situation.

So your saying a person who has shot say 100,000 rounds out of a 1911, or an XD or anything with a standard grip, but never in his life shot a wonky gripped glock, should be able to just pick it up and shoot it with out at least a little bit of effort due to having to over ride his muscle memory on how and where he grips that pistol compared to his 1911?

Never said I can't shoot a glock, I can shoot one extremely well actually, but I can shoot an XD just as well and it doesn't feel funky in my hand or require the override. I can more quickly go from holster to site picture line up much quicker and smoother with standard grip angle pistols than I can with a glock is my point just because that is what I am used to. Now if I put several thousand rounds threw a glock I am sure it would come more natural but just not worth it for me.

By the way that little .22 colt is awesome and getting well used with and without a can on it.

To answer your question yes. Speaking from personal experience I can do just that and I've shot nowhere near 100k rounds.

Glad you like the Colt. It's a sweet little shooter.

            Override?

A different angle requires a different grip. Maybe you are suggesting that if you have hunted for years with a Remington 700 then you should be able to pick up an AR-15 and use it with no problems including activating the safety. After all, they are just rifles so should be used the same.

I don't own a Glock but I have instructed hundreds of Glock users including some that have carried them for years. I have never had a bad comment on changing their grip (actually it is a very natural grip, more so than the "standard" grips) but I have gotten a few comments like, "wow".

How many rounds a person has fired didn't seem to make any difference.

And this actually is very similar to what I am talking about, take a person that has been shooting a top tang safety shotgun for years and you hand him a shotgun with a trigger guard safety for the first time and he is going to be cussing that thing for the first few dozen shells he puts through it. And that is my point why should I learn how to shoot a glock when I can shoot these others with no issues and not have to learn a new grip when my current one works just fine?

That's certainly not what was implying. I was just stating that I can switch platforms easily.

I can understand if the grip doesn't fit your hand, but the slight difference in grip angle shouldn't be an issue.

Then after he has that down pretty good, then move on into the semis. But that is just my opinion on the matter.
My opinion as well. Agree 100%
