Possible accuracy issues with this scope mount?

Would you guys worry about the overlap on the front base? The majority of the front ring is hanging in free air. I am planning on pushing the scope a little forward and getting the ring off the overlap.

Would the remaining overlap pose a potential problem even after I move the ring off it, due to vibration? Will it just be ugly and problemless?

I am looking for new mounts, but can't find any either local or online. The rifle is from the mid 1990s, the newer variations of this rifle seem to be built a little different and require different mounts than the old model. The ones I have found are matte black. Anybody have a lead on stainless bases?

Would you go one piece like DNZ or Talley?

I will assume it is the lower rifle which looks to be a LA Savage, it also looks like you could move the scope forward a bit and move the rear ring back a little I personally wouldn't worry about it unless it is a magnum caliber.

Should have been more specific .

Yes, it's the bottom rifle and it's a 270 Win.

That won't be a problem--unless you plan on using the rifle to drive t-posts---just make sure the base screws and ring screws are tight.

I agree with above. As long as it doesn't interfere with loading or ejection I wouldn't worry about it.

              Thanks guys!

I found a pair of stainless DNZ rings, two piece, I am contemplating. Any bad on DNZ mounts...I haven't really found bad reviews.

I might also chop and dremel the overlap if I get the time and courage.

I found a full length mount on ebay I am picking up. I took the scope off and noticed the mounts on there are not meant for this rifle, either of them. The front mount actually sits a little high off the receiver.

The DNZ will run me $50 as opposed to the rail that will run $15.
