    Savage 112 Magnum 338 Lapua

I'm thinking this will be my next rifle. I shot a friend's 110BA a few years ago and really like the 338 but didn't care for the 110BA model. This 112 Magnum looks awesome and has the target action trigger.

Anybody own one or had a chance to shoot this one yet? Just looking for an honest review.

I haven't fired one, but I was less than impressed with the action/bolt. It felt sloppy and gritty to me.

My boss has a Savage 110BA. I can't comment much on this particular model but I'm going to go out on a limb and say there's not a pig too big to tip over with it.

I have had my eye on one. Nutnfancy has a long review on one on YouTube. I like the guy but some hate him. He says it's the best for the money. The 110BA is more money for not many good reasons. If I had a grand to blow right now and a longer range nearby (1k yards) I would probably have one. I don't think there is a reason to get that caliber due to the cost unless you are going to stretch out the distance. Otherwise get a 300 win mag or 308

I'll try to find that review on YouTube. We set up a range at the ranch and can get to 1,200+. Already covered on the 300 win mag, 7 mag and 308. I want to hear that steel ring hard.

I looked into it a bit and I would do it, mostly because I don't have 10k for a really nice .338 lapua. I'm not a sniper, I just like long range shots

When I was working for the rifle shop, the number one rifle rebuild we had was 338 Lapua. Lots of people dropped 3-5K on one and then after having it for a while had us rebuild them into 300 WinMag.

Unless you're going to go 1200+ yards you just don't need a Lapua. There's lots of stuff way cheaper to shoot. Friend of mine bought one. 6 months later he still hasnt shot it. And if you want a bigger caliber, a .338 Win Mag with a 250 grain Hornady BTHP will stay supersonic to 1300+ yards. I figured that would be an amazing long range pig gun.

Also, a sendero sf2 in 300 RUM is hard to beat

I have a model 12 in 300wsm and it is an absolute tack driver. I have taken it out to 400 with no problems. Haven't pushed it any further as I don't need to, but sure it would.
