    Sako

Thinking of buying a Sako in a 7mm or 30/06. Don't know many folks that have ever owned a Sako, and looking for any information that I can get.

I've researched a bit on the Internet, but looking for some first-hand advice. Thanks in advance!

Check out the Tikka. I love my Tactical .308.

      Sako

I've got a Sako 85 Hunter 260 Remington and a Sako Big Game 30-06. Also have 3 Tikkas and really like them also. I can't say that the sako's shoot any better than the Tikkas, but I can see the superior quality that the sako's have in fit and finish. They all shoot very well, but I will always be on the lookout for Sako's that are priced fair. They'll hold their value better than other ,off the shelf rifles also.

I have a Sako A7 in .308 and it is a very accurate weapon. I've owned two other Sakos and liked those as well.

I've owned several Tikkas as well, and all fine shooters.

I have had quite a few over the last twenty five years and currently have about half a dozen. I am partial to the older ones such as the L61 and AV models. They are very accurate and reliable rifles. They are a bit on the heavy side compared to some newer models on the market today. You can check gunbroker and see what they are currently priced at.

Love the Sako rifles! I have a sako 75 in a 7mm stw that shoots .5 groups. Also bought a A7 last year in 7 mag that shoots .75 groups with factory ammo.

                    Great rifle and super accurate.

The 75 was probably the best they made since the old models on a Mauser action. The 85 isn't bad either.

The only draw back IMO is they're very spendy if you get a synthetic model for what you get...it's basically a fiber reinforced high end plastic stock.

Another option is the A7 with a factory installed Bell and Carlson.

All Tikka's, A7's and 85 model barreled actions are made by Sako...Great quality product.

I couldn't decide on the Sako A7 or the Tikka T3. I went with the Tikka but the A7 is sweet. When I go to the website for Sako, all I do is drool at the wood stocks on those rifles. They're expensive but they are absolutely beautiful rifles that don't just look pretty, they are guaranteed to be shooters.
