    Mil scope for a newbie?

Ok, so I happen to have snagged a Grendel recently that had a SWFA SS 12x42 scope on it. After reading about it and liking what I read, I want to get 1 nicer scope or 2 cheaper mil scopes for 2 rifles that need them. One is a .308 and the other is to replace the fixed SWFA mil scope to a variable power one for the 6.5 Grendel.

My question is : Would you try and replace both with cheaper scopes or get 1 nice right now?

    And

Which scope(s) would y'all recommend I could get for the 308?

I'd be trading a DPMS LR-308 with quite a few upgrades for it.

DPMS LR-308, 18" barrel, NIBoron BCG, Daniel Defense Trigger, Troy 14" Battlerail handguard, 2-10rnd mags, 2-20rnd mags. Has Magpul Stock, Ergo grip, AAC flash hider for AAC suppressor. Caldwell Bipod. No scope mount. Couple boxes of ammo. 28 rnds down the barrel. The only thing this needs is a $4 castle nut replaced, cause I scratched it replacing the buffer tube and stock.

If you like the SWFA SS 12x42 then just get the variable version of it.
