    thread protector

question-would it be possible to have a thread protector made for a barrel just by sending a gunsmith the muzzle brake or would he need the rifle itself?

Need one made-tried two different ones from brownells but the threads don't match.

I always like to have mating pieces when I make anything. You can make your part perfect, but sometimes the mating part is a little off. Saves a lot of headache. I'd find a local machine shop and do it that way.

I think Barrel threads should be pretty standard?

      My rifle if 5/8 x 24

      My AR is 1/2-28

Did the threaded barrel come from the actory or where they done by a gunsmith afterwards?

There are several standard sizes ... you should only need to measure the thread and pick the right size. I know nothing about this manufacturer, but they list 8 different thread sizes on their Amazon listing of their thread protectors.
