I have been shooting Bergers out of mt 7 STW they shoot great ! the hunting VLD's are a little longer so be careful make sure they fit in the mag box correctly.

x 2 ... first thing I was going to suggest

make sure they are seated deep enough to fit in mag box.

or seat them long and shoot your rifle single shot , that's what I do

my suggestion for any reloader, spend $12 and sign up for https://ammoguide.com/

1 year of unlimited use and they have tons of powder, brass, bullet, etc... recommendations . They have approx. 260 loads for the 7mag

          R19 , R22, R25, IMR 4831, H4350, H-Retumbo, VV N160, VV N165, are just a few that will work

berger has their own reloading manual out now-may want to take a look at it.

Funny thing about Berger bullets. They can shoot great right up near the lands and they can shoot great off of the lands with a significant jump. I read up on this before loading for my 243 and it really does work. My 243 rounds are loaded up to fit in the magazine but still group way under MOA. I think you will find that Berger bullets are the bomb.
Here is the information I read:

I have that load manual by the way. I can look up stuff tonight when I get home if you need me to.

get a hornady lock n load OAL gauge (used to be by Stoney Point). This will tell you the length to seat the bullet at in relation to your barrel's lands.

                      Interested as well.

I'm about to start loading the 168 Hunting VLD with a mid range load of 7828 to test seating depth for a 7 Rem Mag.

Read up on the Berger seating depth testing, it worked for me on my 240 WBY with 105 VLD's.

I actually learned this technique from Dustoffer and have had good luck with it.

BTW-the 240 WBY is the same length as a 7RM and I've loaded the 105 VLD's at .020" off the lands and feed really well with a Wyatt's mag box.

Interesting read. I'm going to try their "sweet spot" method.

IMO this is an indispensable tool for the reloader trying to wring the absolute last increment of accuracy out of a rifle. Measuring from case base to bullet tip with caliper won't get it as bullet tips are inconsistent at best. This tool measures to the ogive--where the bullet taper has increased to "one caliber", say .308 for the .308/.30-06/.300 WinMag, or .257 for the .25-06 etc. That's the part of the bullet that engages the rifling lands, not the tip.
