    Scope lense caps

I picked up a couple of Butler Creek flip up lense covers and can't keep the things from flipping up. Any recommendations for different flip ups?

    What brand of scope?
    Leupolds fit Leopold and Redfield.
    (The flip up aluminum caps).

Often there will be a couple sizes that will fit your scope. If you pick a size that is too tight then the plastic will stretch a little causing them to not stay closed.

      How tight are they fitting?

Yes, take them off and throw them away.

        Get you one of these:

This is a fact. Sounds like you have the wrong size. I've had two sets over the years and both work flawlessly. If they are a little too big, just wrap your scope with electrical tape until the covers fit snug.

Good advice, but I would put the electrical tape on the inside of the cover and not tape it to my scope, same concept just different method.

I like to use a scope coat over the top of my flip ups. Keeps the dust off.

Yeah, they were too tight. I may take them back and see if I can get one size bigger. It is an old Leupold Vari X 3.

You might want to look at AADMOUNT Scope covers they are a quality cover.
