This is just a feel good post, not trying to brag or anything. For those of you who rather "make' than "buy" you'll understand.
- a couple months ago i decided to build my first AR in 204 ruger. I designed the gun for long range precision. After completing the build and testing various hand loads i nailed down my load and zero'd the rifle at 100 yards. This past weekend was my first chance to stretch her out some and see what she could do. Again this is just a feel good, sense of accomplishment post, i have no formal long range shooting training or really any experience in it at all.
this is a short clip on me taking 3 shots at 450 yards at a 6" steel target hitting it twice. Winds were light to gusty at 15mph from 15-30 degrees.
i had a lot more misses than hits but somehow i got lucky and filmed by best 3 shots, i was averaging 1 for 3. i didnt have a dirt back stop so it was hard to make adjustments because i had no idea where i missed i relied solely on my range and wind adjustment calculations.
its a good feeling when something you put a lot of time, money and effort into preforms the way you had hoped. Still have a lot of work to do personally on my skill but this is a good start in my book. thanks for letting me waste 5 minutes of your work day!
