    Remington 1100 problem

The bolt handle fell off in the field while I was hunting. I lost it. Can I just buy another one and replace it? How does it install and what would cause it to fall out?

    Thanks for the help.

Midway & Brownell's...just push / pull to install / remove.

Midway is certainly one source however, the better may be Brownells if you have any question simply ask to speak to the tech. The reason for this is simple. 1100's there are two choices for the handle. They were made to be removed however the spring detent holes may differ. Hope this helps.

Look at numrich gun parts. They have everything, most with a diagram. And have been cheaper for most parts

It shouldn't just fall out. My 1100 is ancient and it still takes some pressure to pull it out. I guess it is possible that the detent hole wallowed out. I'd buy and handle and see if it will push in and stay. As already stated, it is just push in pull out. If the new handle stays in and feels solid I'd call it good. If it won't stay in there you need to pull it apart and look at the spring and detent in the bolt. Push the magazine flipper up and there is a small metal tab that holds shells in the mag. Push it toward the side of the receiver and the bolt will slide out of the front along with the action bar coming off of the mag tube.

                Buy an oversized Nordic.

I just ordered the parts for my 1100 LT 20 gauge yesterday. I didn't loose the bolt. The parts I ordered were the:
Operating handle Spring. This is a small spring that holds the ball in place
Operating Handle Plunger Retainer. This is a small clip that holds it all in place.
Operating handle Plunger. This is the small ball that holds the handle in place.
                    Ordered all from Midway.

I'm surprised it just fell out. Mine is a pain to remove when cleaning.
