Which competition sprorting clay gun...need input on Zoli.

I've been shooting the same Beretta 682 Super Sporting for over 20 years & decided I am going to start my piggy bank collection & search for my next go to primary O/U 2+ decade gun.

I originally had every intention of getting the Beretta 692, but hear (currently unsubstantiated) they have problems with breakage around the stock/frame area. My local shelving dealer (who is a hard core O/U guy, buddy & cusotmer) is going to make some calls into them directly & other guys on the clay circuit to see if it has been resolved or has any validity to the claim. One thing with Beretta, is if there is a problem, they will make it right. I really think this will be my primary choice with my current budget (unless I fall into a crazy deal on a used DT-10)

Having said that, I was REALLY drawn to a Zoli Z-Sport I fondled...do any of you guys have ANY REAL experience with this brand?? I know it's not the most common but want to check the tbh brethren while I continue my search on the 692 & this new contender. Another option is a used Blazer F3...Dad has one & I really dig it, but not a lot of time behind it. Will shoot it more very soon.

Also, please keep Smart away from this thread as I do not want to hear how I need a Browning...they just don't fit me.

If you are not in a hurry, every manufacturer will be at the national sporting clay shoot in San Antonio Oct 17-25th. you can probably shoot every top brand sporting clays gun there is there. I've never shot a Zoli but I love my Blaser F3.

Blaser gets my vote. Go see Texas premier sporting arms "super Dave" will hook you up and he sales both guns. Always has demos on hand to shoot

This! You can run a couple boxes of shells through them all. Its a great way to shop for guns.

I'm around a lot of Jr competitive shooters in 4H and there are A LOT of Beretta shotguns, a few Browning and a small mix of the Zolis, Bazers, etc.

We saw several cracked stocks on new high end Browning shotguns where the wood meets the receiver. There were three I know of (saw them myself) in a group of about 10 kids shooting Brownings. I haven't seen any problems out if the Beretta lines from 686, 692, DT11, SV10. They are extremely reliable.

Beretta outnumbers Browning by 3-5x at these shoots for a reason.
