    17 wsm

Anyone have one? Yes I know a 22, 22 mag and a 17 HMR work. Asking about the WSM. If you have one how do you like it?

amigo...no idea on this, but FWIW I really want a 17 Mach IV as I think this is the best balanced 17cal out there.

Blake is the man on this mini cals...watch for his reply.

      c'mon grasshopper

23 threads already started about the 17 WSM

I'll reply back shortly with some more info

PS- I have close to a "baker's dozen" custom 17 and 20 caliber rifles as the addiction is real

personally, I'd advocate the 17 Ackley Hornet over the WSM

I enjoy mine. But I don't know what it means to not enjoy a gun. I'm hoping I'll enjoy it even more when my dang tax stamp comes in. Got it threaded and waiting to see if there will be much difference in sound, regardless of the sonic crack.

Father-in-law has a savage b-mag 17 wsm. It is a fun, accurate gun to shoot. It has a vortex crossfire II scope. My overall impression is that the gun shoots well, but the stock, and fit and finish leave something to be desired.

Yes it would need to be sent to Twisted Barrel for a make over if I got the Savage. That bolt knob would deff have to go!

Look at this one. Just needs that nasty bolt knob changed.

Why not just get the Ruger m77/17? For what you are going to spend customizing a cheap savage bmag you could already own a ready to shoot Ruger

Simple. I don't like it. That and a bolt nob installed is an entire $60. Still nowhere near the $$$ of a Ruger. I just looked at one not more than 15 mins ago.

That is a major improvement as far as the stock goes.

I didn't even know it came in that. Store price is $479. You could really dress it up at Twisted barrel. $60 for a new bolt knob and about $190 on the fluting give or take depending on the pattern. This one is $190.

Oh ok. Gotcha. Dissapointing to hear about the Ruger. I know the bmag is flimsy. Terrible stock and I think they changed from 1:9 to 1:8 twist or other way around now. There is a heavy barrel stainless and fluted barrel offering now. Stay away from the skinny barrel unless you aren't interested in accuracy. Let us know what you end up with. I'm waiting for the. 20wsm to come out
