recoil pad suggestion for BDL custom deluxe

I recently got a Remington BDL Custom Deluxe in .270. The rifle doesn't have to much recoil but it would be more comfortable if it had something other than the plastic butt plate. Has anyone replaced theirs and with what?

    Get a limbsaver

Grind to fit Pacmayr, I like the presentation pad with the cross weave.

If you really want to reduce the recoil, add a 1/2 pound mercury tube to the stock.

Both jobs are easily accomplished by the average DIY'er with some assistance from YouTube. If you don't feel comfortable, they're not too expensive to have done by a smith.

I'm not a fan of the limbsaver, they turn gummy after a few years. An excellent performing recoil pad which they claim to have corrected the the gummy rubber issue. I have no recent experience but have never had an issue with a pac.

A tip than an old smith taught me years ago. When grinding the pac, freeze it prior to taking off the last bit of material. It makes for a smoother finish.

This. I had Feland's of cypress cut off my stock first to avoid lengthening the pull and then add the pad. On several rifles.
