Glock 43 v. Beretta Nano v. Smith and Wesson M&P Shield

Glock 43 v. Beretta Nano v. Smith and Wesson M&P Shield

I transferred a Red Jacket Integrally Suppressed 458 SOCOM to a friend today and we took it tot the range. In between letting the rifle cool of, we started shooting my Glock 43 and Beretta Nano. One of the guys who was at the range came over and we added his M&P shield into the mix.

My Thoughts: I am a Glock guy and I remain a Glock guy.

I have always complained about the mushy long trigger pull trigger on the Beretta Nano. That was made more apparent when shooting it next to the Glock 43 and the M&P Shield.

The Beretta sits very tall in your hand. Noticeably taller than the Glock and the Shield.

I still think the clock 43 is the better of the two guns in all respects. However, the Beretta Nano isn't bad. I just prefer the Glock.

Frankly, everyone who shot all three pistols preferred the Glock.

Hmmm. Haven't been paying attention to handguns lately. Didn't realize they finally came out with a single stack 9mm glock. I have always preferred my G26 over the Nano when it comes to target shooting. However, the Nano won hands down when it came to no-nonsense, ability to conceal, non snagging, short range, self defense.

Now having a glock that fits the same mold as a nano is intriguing. Hopefully they come out with a mag that can hold more than 6.

I have the M&P Shield and love everything about except the trigger. Going to replace it with a APEX trigger.

I just read an article this weekend where they compared about 10 different micro 9mms and the beretta performed worse than any of them, including both front and rear sights coming completely off the gun. They ran 600 rounds through all of them and 1000 through the top performers. Glock, Sig, Kahr and Taurus, yes I said Taurus, were the cream that rose to the top.

Good to know. I won a 43 a few weeks ago at a DU banquet and haven't shot it yet!

Post the article. Haven't had any issues with the Nano, other than intolerance to crappy ammo (most compacts do though...) I have probably put about 500 rounds through mine. I especially haven't had issues with the sights coming off! It has worked flawlessly in the handful times I've had to draw and shoot it.

My Nana has been reliable with anything that I put through it. This video used freedom munitions hundred twenty four grain ammo. It ran fine. The clock ran fine, the shield ran fine, and the STI ran fine.

i never heard of that guy. oh man what a bad review.

"The factory recommends recoil spring change ($5) every 200 rounds."

i shot a shield .40 and had a failure to load in the 50rnds of the rental.
went with a sigp938 and am very happy with it so far.

The R9 didn't make it. I remember that it had to be sent back to the factory when new. We were playing with it and it simply stopped working while dry firing it. It has worked for its owner like a charm since then.

Didn't know about the 200rd recoil spring replacement. That sucks because I think they are out of business or have been sold
