    It's here! It's FINALLY here!

You guys will have to excuse the mess on my bench, to excited to take time away from installing mounts to really clean up. Silencer Shop sent the email a bit before 3 this afternoon. I got so excited I just left and drive to Austin.

SilencerCo Specwar 7.62. She's big and heavy, but surprisingly manageable. My 10.5" blackout pistol actually feels better WITH the can. I bet it'll be awesome when I SBR the pistol.

You would think in todays safety minded world guns should come with a can installed from the factory. Just makes sense to save our hearing. The govt forces seat belts, safety glasses, fall restraints, etc on us.

Don't forget that the number one cause of deaths in America is required to have a muffler (automobiles). I agree that firearms should all have a sound suppressor but not at the expense of creating more laws.

I'm only going to ruin it on a 300blk and a 308 for the time being, but working on a WSM of some flavor and a long action Savage I'm thinking about screwing a wildcat barrel on, thinking 7mm-300WM. Should be a simple neckdown from .308-.284, and it'll have similar ballistics to a 338 lapua, just without the recoil, and not as much energy on target.

Well, I shot it this morning. Full power 308 is still fairly noisy, but WAY better than without, no ears ringing at all. To be honest, I was shooting into mud at close range, so I'm really not sure how much of the noise was muzzle blast and how much was impact. I figure a 168gr SMK hitting mud at 2700ish fps, ten feet away probably makes a pretty loud thump. Wish I could have shot it farther, but with all the people moving into the rural neighborhood, I couldn't risk a ricochet. I'll take it to a real range asap, but I just wasn't wanting to pay a range fee just to pop off a couple rounds.

Oh, smart forgot, recoil from the 308, while never bad, was almost non-existent, seriously like shooting a 22, maybe a 22 mag. And probably not much louder either!

On the 10" blackout pistol, it's got a pretty decent first round pop, then after that, it's quiet! Like subsonic rounds, all you hear is bullets slapping mud, supersonics aren't a lot louder. Almost makes me wish I had a blackout bolt gun.
