    Cabela's Brand Scope Reviews?

Anyone have any experience with these?

I am looking at the 6-18×50 with the EXT reticle to put on a 7mm rem mag. Handled one in the store yesterday and it seems nice but always hard to tell inside the store.

    Price was nice at $349.99

Says they are assembled in the US, if that's worth anything.

    Any input will be appreciated!

    Thanks

From what I understand and/or remember...Cabela's scopes were rebranded Meopta Meopros.

Cabelas doesn't really make anything, they just have a batch made by somebody and rebranded. I looked and like said above everything led back to this being a Meopta Meopro ($600+ scope). Sounds like a good deal.

That being said, when they get bored with Meopta these will probably be in the bargain cave in couple years (ala the Alaskan Guide Binos) so I don't know what happens to warranty support then. I like hitting a Cabelas brand homerun, their branded Easton arrows are fantastic through my setup.

Ive always heard good things about Meopta's, so if that's the truth that's a dang good deal. FWIW, I paid 320 for a Nikon Prostaff 5 in 4-14x40 and think its one of the better buys Ive made, but the Meopta I looked through was a tad better than the Nikon. For basically the same price for the Cabelas branded one that's a no brainer!

You can still get a "real" Meopta from Euro Optic 3-9x42 for $349.00.

I just bought a Vortex crossfire ii 6-18x44 1mm tube at Cabelas for $220 and it has the dead hold bdc reticle so shooting between 100-600 is very easy with drop reticles. I looked at all the scopes there and found this one to be the best value for the price... Just imo

You bring up a good point about warranty. That is a big selling point for me. The scope I really have my eye on is the Vortex Viper 6.5-20×50 but saw the Cabelas scope for about $200 cheaper and thought I would see if anyone on the GS had any experience with them.

              Thanks everyone for the input!

Is their not a factory rep for VORTEX on the Green Screen that can cut you a deal

How's the light thru that 1mm tube?
