It might be marked, haven't checked it all out yet.

appears to be a Leupold M8 2x scout scope

verify the scope serial # and call LEU to confirm age

pretty sure the scope is much newer than the 30-30

do NOT refinish the rifle's metal or wood . Just wipe it down with a lightly coated oil rag to prevent rust

ps - I would also send the scope back to LEU for a complete inspection and they will send you back the paperwork (clean bill of health) confirming what was done and if it met inspection. If something is wrong LEU will fix it or replace it , no questions asked

Now THAT'S a RANCH RIFLE! Very nice

My great uncle had one years ago, and I didn't give it much thought back then. I have his Winchester single shot 22 and a 16 gauge bolt action, but that old 30-30 would have been a nice one too.

I would make sure to just clean it up real good and make sure all moving parts are oiled up. I don't know if the new ammunition has higher chamber pressures than the 50's did. Might spend a few minutes looking that up. I am sure someone on here knows that answer.
With the corporate lawyers, I'd bet the pressures of modern ammo is lower than 60+ years ago.

Clean it, lube it, load it, shoot it, re-clean it.
