    scope decision

Well guys I just finished getting everything for a Thompson Center pro hunter/encore in 204 Ruger put together...just need a scope.

My big question is does anyone else have a 204 ruger and what scope did you go with? My main target will be yotes and the occasional rabbit, bobcat, maybe even a piggy or two if the opportunity presents itself.

    and GO!!!

I just put a Leupold Rifleman in 3x9x40 on a Savage Axis in .223 and am very impressed with the scope for the $179 I spent on it. Has ballistic reticle and very clear glass.
I also own quite a few the new Redfield Scopes. (these are made by Leupold now).
Excellent value for the $$$. Cannot go wrong for either of these 2 USA made scope brands.

You might want to give a price range. Also the range most commonly will be shooting at. 0-100, 0-300. But there is someone on here that sells vortex and they are a real good scope for the money.

I have a Nikon buck master on my encore in 243. That being said I would look at vortex for my next scope.

not looking to break the bank, a Leupold for $179 sounds amazing though! nothing more than 150yds. don't exactly have that available distance. most of my place is heavily wooded.

I would find a good used leupold vxII in 3-9x40 in that price range

I like lots of magnification on small calibers. Really zero in on shot placement for those small bullets.

Sounds like you want to stay around or south of 200$...

That case I'd say A leupold rifleman or VX1 3x9
Vortex 3-9 or the 4-12 diamondback

                          Nikon 3-9 or the 4-12
