scope help

I am trying to decide on the scope to put on my APR built 270 weatherby. I am torn between the following models: Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50, Zeiss HD5 5-25x50, and Swarovski z5 5-25x52.

Wanted to see if anyone had any personal experience with any or all of these scopes. My gun is 7.4 lbs as it sits.

Not interested in hearing opinions on magnification, as this is the range and specific models I'm looking at. Please limit your responses to these scopes only.

I have the NXS 5.5-22x56. It has been a great scope and the illuminated reticle is nice. I wish mine had the zero stop but they were not offering it yet when I bought the scope. The Nightforce will perform well and do anything you want it to do. That said it is very heavy. Mine is mounted on a sendero and there is no way I would want to carry it around much. If you are planning on doing much hunting where you will be walking around then you may want to look at the Zeiss or Swarovski since they are lighter. I think either one will work well for hunting. There seem to be some pretty good reviews on the Zeiss HD5 as far as the turrets are concerned. I've never heard great things about dialing turrets on the Swarovski's. So if you want a lighter weight hunting scope and are planning on dialing your elevation, then I would probably lean to the Zeiss. If weight is not a concern then I would choose the Nightforce.

Agree with the above post. Keep in mind that swarovski is adding their own new tactical shoe this year. Looking at a summer release.

I have an HD5 I think for a hunting scope it works out great. Probably the best bang for the buck. There are a few places where you can get them at a great price. If I was shooting more of a competition type shooting then I would go Nightforce.
