    ruger SR45

What yall think good or bad my old man is looking at getting one

    #2
I've been thinking about getting one as well. I owned a SR40c and it was a great shooter so am hoping that the 45 is a good one too.

I have two of the SR40c and they both shoot nice like them both.

        M&P45 for the win!

I'm not a huge fan of Ruger centerfire semi autos. They make an awesome wheel gun but their semi autos leave something to be desired to say the least

I wouldn't even consider a ruger semi auto. We all different taste and budgets. I always tell people to shoot a rental or a buddies and check out a bunch of different models before buying.

I picked one up last week. Only have about 100 rounds through it so far, but no problems. Accurate, feels good in the hands, and I'm a lefty so I really like the ambidextrous mag release and safety.

I picked one up cheap. Only a couple hundred rounds through it, but so far I really like it. Better than I expected. I'm pretty much a glock guy, but this has me thinking about picking up the 9mm version.

Yeah. The SR1911s are good to go! Great 1911 for the price.

Just curious.....what don't y'all like about the Ruger center fire semi-autos?

I've had a SR9 since they first came out and got a Glock 19 about the same time. Because of the simplicity (no safety) I would choose the Glock in a self-defense situation but find the Ruger easier to shoot and I've had no reliability issues with either.

If I did not own either I would buy the Glock but I don't have anything negative to say about the Ruger. I've shot my son's Springfield XD 9 quite a bit too and would be fine with it if that is all I had.

Not everyone is as unbiased as you mikebyrge.
I started out shooting Rugers because they were in my price range. Come to find out, they are extremely reliable and well built. Now that I can afford "better" firearms, I have tried out a few only to find out that the real difference is the price. JMO

I've only shot the SR9, scary accurate. I'd like to shoot the 45, if its as accurate as the 9mm I want one too.
