May have a problem with local gunsmith...

I'm patiently waiting for my atf paperwork to be approved and receive my stamp so I can pickup my new suppressor. So I today picked up my mk3 hunter from the gsmith and the threading looks to be crooked. I told him and he said it was the barrel and that the bore wasn't perfectly centered. What do you guys see? If it's crooked what can I do? It's the first time I've ever used this gunsmith. Any way to check and be sure if it's straight or crooked? I put a cleaning rod in it and everything points to crooked threads but it could be my eyes.

Looks like it's tilted up a bit?

Kinda hard to tell from the pics to be honest man. You use a cleaning rod and when you get the can run the rod down it and see if touched the can. I have seen a bunch that smiths are messing up even some big name ones.

ask him to test it for you with one of his suppressors before breaking yours. ive hears of using dowels when the cans on etc. get a 2nd opinion at a different smith if unsure once the can comes in

That's the other problem, he doesn't have supressors. He threw a muzzle brake on it and it also looked tilted upward.

I would make it clear somehow if the suppresor is screwed up anyway that's because of his work he's paying for it haha

Yup just confirmed it with a friends sparrow ss. The cleaning rod touches the bottom side of the exit hole with force any way you rotate it as well as up tight to the shoulder.

Go get ur money back. Or let him know he sucks at threading barrels and doesn't need to offer the service. Then find a good smith.

Tomorrow I'm going to try for my money back. Hopefully he will not be problematic about it. I'm not sure how much it usually runs for threading service but it cost me $120. I'm disappointed because my front sight will no longer be able to be saved due to the flutes.

Just have your sight moved back and retapped.

Or is there flutes on the top I can't remember.

If so I would make him send it to ruger for a whole new barrel.
